    2008 Point System

Below is an overview of the points system for the 2008 Infinitive Championship Series (ICS):

    Rules and Categories
All events are USA Triathlon sanctioned and USATF sanctioned.

To be eligible for ICS overall awards, participants must enter a minimum of 3 events as an individual or team category.  Awards will be awarded to the top 3 overall finishers in both individual and team categories.

Participants who compete in more than 3 events will use their top 3 scores for computing points.

Participants, who compete as a team, must have the same team participants for each ICS event to quality for overall ICS prizes.

Masters for series only - If you are one of the first 3 males or females age 40 and up, you will be pulled from the Age Group Results at the end of the year and scored in the Masters category.  In any given event you are scored as an age grouper and winning a masters award WILL NOT affect your overall series score.

For each race, prizes will be awarded 3 deep in each group as well as overall 1, 2, 3 male female for the series.

Age Group Classification: All participants’ ages will be set based on their age as of 12/31/2007. This is to keep in line with USAT's new rankings procedure.  For series scoring purposes, they will be considered that age for the entire year.
